Description
The Elbe is a 100cm-tall bollard light built around a graphite-finished metal column with an open framework design. Four vertical strips of clear acrylic run the full height between a square top and base, diffusing light from an integrated 10W 3000K LED positioned inside the top canopy. The IP65 rating provides protection against water ingress and dust, allowing the bollard to operate year-round in exposed UK outdoor conditions.
Designed for pathway lighting, driveway edges, garden borders and patio perimeters, the 100cm height projects light down onto horizontal surfaces without glare at typical standing eye level. The 11cm square footprint requires a shallow concrete footing or fixing base, and the minimal projection makes it suitable for narrow paths where a wider bollard would intrude on circulation space. The open framework allows light to escape horizontally as well as downward, creating pools of ambient light along a run of bollards rather than isolated spots.
The graphite finish is a mid-tone powder-coated metal that sits between matt black and charcoal grey, giving visual weight without the stark contrast of pure black against light paving or gravel. The metal construction resists corrosion in coastal and high-moisture environments, and the IP65 seal prevents water from reaching the LED driver or internal connections. The integrated LED removes the need for bulb replacement, and the 10W output at 3000K delivers warm white light that complements traditional brick, stone and timber exteriors without the cool blue cast of higher colour temperatures.

Frequently Asked
What does IP65 protection cover?
IP65 provides complete protection against dust ingress and protection against water jets from any direction. This means the bollard can operate in rain, snow, coastal spray and areas where hose-cleaning or irrigation systems might direct water at the fitting.
What installation is required?
The bollard requires a mains 220-240V AC supply run underground in suitable armoured cable to the bollard position. The 11cm square base needs to be fixed to a concrete footing or paved surface using anchor bolts. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with Part P Building Regulations.
How is the light distributed?
The integrated LED sits inside the top canopy and projects light downward through the four clear acrylic vertical strips. This creates both downward illumination onto pathways and horizontal wash light along the run of the bollard, giving ambient pools of light rather than narrow downward beams.
Can the bollard be installed on soil or gravel?
The bollard needs a solid fixing base. For installation on soil or gravel, a concrete footing must be poured below ground level, with the top flush or slightly above the surrounding surface. The bollard base is then bolted to the concrete. Direct installation into loose soil or gravel will not provide adequate stability.
