Description

The Ecliptus is a 150W constant voltage LED driver designed for 24V DC LED systems, with 1-10V analogue dimming control. The driver converts 230V AC mains input to a regulated 24V DC output at up to 6.25A, powering LED strip lights, architectural lighting runs, under-cabinet installations and other low-voltage LED fixtures that operate on constant voltage rather than constant current.

The 1-10V dimming protocol allows the driver to be paired with compatible wall dimmers, lighting control panels and building management systems that output a 1-10V control signal. At 10V the driver delivers full output; at 1V it dims to a minimum level (typically 5-10% of full output depending on the connected LED load). The dimming curve is smooth and flicker-free across the range, making the driver suitable for hospitality, retail and residential applications where controlled ambience is needed.

The white plastic housing measures 352mm long by 43mm deep, fitting into ceiling voids, behind panels and inside architectural recesses where space is limited. The driver carries an IP20 rating, restricting it to dry indoor locations away from direct water contact. Input and output terminals accept solid or stranded wire for permanent installation, and the unit includes short-circuit, overload and over-temperature protection to prevent damage during fault conditions. Ideal Lux backs the driver with a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked

What voltage output does this driver provide?

The Ecliptus outputs 24V DC at up to 6.25A (150W maximum load). It is designed for constant voltage LED systems such as 24V LED strip lights, not for constant current LED fittings.

What dimming control does it require?

The driver uses 1-10V analogue dimming. You need a compatible 1-10V dimmer switch or control panel that outputs a voltage signal between 1V (minimum dim) and 10V (full brightness). Standard trailing-edge or leading-edge phase-cut dimmers are not compatible.

Can it be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the driver to dry indoor locations only. It must be installed in a ceiling void, control panel or similar enclosure away from direct water contact, condensation and outdoor weather.

How is it wired into a lighting system?

Mains 230V AC connects to the input terminals. The 24V DC output terminals connect to the positive and negative lines of the LED strip or fixture. The separate 1-10V dimming input connects to the control signal from your dimmer or control panel. Wiring should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
