Description

The Ecliptus is a 100W constant voltage LED driver designed for 24V LED lighting systems, providing 1-10V analogue dimming control across a 0-100% output range. The driver converts 230V AC mains input to stable 24V DC output, delivering up to 4.17A continuous current to power LED strip lights, recessed downlights, under-cabinet lighting and other 24V constant voltage LED fixtures.

Designed for installation in ceiling voids, under-cabinet cavities and other concealed locations, the driver requires adequate ventilation and carries an IP20 rating suitable for dry indoor environments only. The 1-10V dimming interface accepts control signals from compatible wall-mounted dimmers, lighting control systems and building management platforms, allowing smooth dimming without flicker across the full brightness range. The 210mm x 67mm footprint fits standard ceiling grid modules and typical void depths above suspended ceilings.

The white plastic housing includes mounting lugs at either end for fixing to joists, battens or dedicated driver rails. Input and output terminals accept cables up to 2.5mm² and are clearly marked for polarity. The driver incorporates overload, short-circuit and over-temperature protection, automatically shutting down and resetting once fault conditions clear. Ideal Lux backs the unit with a 5-year warranty covering component and manufacturing defects.

The constant voltage output maintains stable 24V regardless of connected load, provided total wattage stays within the 100W maximum. This makes the driver compatible with both short runs of high-power LED strip and longer runs of lower-density strip, without requiring load calculations beyond total wattage. The 1-10V dimming protocol is industry-standard and works with most professional dimming controls, though compatibility with specific consumer dimmers should be confirmed before installation.

Does it require a separate dimmer control?

Yes. The driver responds to a 1-10V analogue control signal from a compatible wall dimmer, lighting control module or building management system. Without a 1-10V signal connected, the driver outputs at full brightness. Standard trailing-edge or leading-edge domestic dimmers will not work with this driver.

Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating restricts installation to dry indoor locations only. For bathrooms, kitchens and outdoor applications, use an IP65 or IP67 rated driver instead.

What ventilation is needed?

The driver dissipates heat through convection via the plastic housing. Install in a location with air circulation and avoid enclosing the driver in insulation, sealed boxes or tight cavities with no airflow. Mounting vertically with terminals facing downward aids heat dissipation.
