The Eclipse is a 1.7m floor lamp built around two intertwining metal curves finished in black chrome, with two clear optical glass shades positioned at the upper crossing point. Each shade houses a G9 bulb (sold separately, maximum 33W per bulb), and the clear glass refracts light into multiple directions rather than diffusing it softly, creating a brighter, more directional effect than frosted or alabaster shades.

Designed for lounges, dining areas and living rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights, the Eclipse works as accent lighting rather than primary room illumination due to the exposed G9 bulbs and clear glass combination. The 300mm circular base sits flush on hard floors and short-pile rugs, and the 8.5kg weight keeps the lamp stable without needing to be fixed to the wall. Yes, provided you fit dimmable G9 bulbs and connect the lamp to a compatible dimmer switch on the wall circuit. The lamp itself does not have an integrated dimmer control.

How is the black chrome finish maintained?

Black chrome shows fingerprints and dust more readily than matt or brushed finishes. Wipe the frame with a dry microfibre cloth weekly to maintain the reflective quality. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid sprays or polishes that can streak the chrome.

Is the lamp stable on rugs?

The 300mm circular base and 8.5kg weight provide stability on hard floors and short-pile rugs. On thick or shag rugs the base may benefit from being placed where part of it sits on bare floor to prevent tipping if the lamp is knocked.
