The Eclipse is a 1.7m floor lamp built around two intertwining metal curves finished in black chrome, with two clear optical glass shades positioned at the upper crossing point. Each shade houses a G9 bulb (sold separately, maximum 33W per bulb), and the clear glass refracts light into multiple directions rather than diffusing it softly, creating a brighter, more directional effect than frosted or alabaster shades.

Designed for lounges, dining areas and living rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights, the Eclipse works as accent lighting rather than primary room illumination due to the exposed G9 bulbs and clear glass combination. The 300mm circular base sits flush on hard floors and short-pile rugs, and the 8.5kg weight keeps the lamp stable without needing to be fixed to the wall. The black chrome finish shows fingerprints more readily than brushed or matt finishes, so placement away from high-traffic areas reduces the need for frequent cleaning.

The twisted frame geometry gives the lamp a sculptural quality when viewed from different angles, with the two curves crossing twice along the vertical axis before terminating at the top mounting plate where the glass shades attach. The lamp is dimmable when paired with dimmable G9 LED or halogen bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch on the wall circuit. What bulbs does it take?

The Eclipse takes two G9 capsule bulbs, maximum 33W each (total 66W). Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W for lower running costs, or halogen G9 bulbs for brighter output and warmer colour rendering.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable G9 bulbs and connect the lamp to a compatible dimmer switch on the wall circuit. The lamp itself does not have an integrated dimmer control.

How is the black chrome finish maintained?

Black chrome shows fingerprints and dust more readily than matt or brushed finishes. Wipe the frame with a dry microfibre cloth weekly to maintain the reflective quality. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid sprays or polishes that can streak the chrome.

Is the lamp stable on rugs?

The 300mm circular base and 8.5kg weight provide stability on hard floors and short-pile rugs. On thick or shag rugs the base may benefit from being placed where part of it sits on bare floor to prevent tipping if the lamp is knocked.
