Description

Ten AA alkaline cells in a single hanging pack, from the Duracell Plus Power With Power Boost Actives line. AA is the most widely used household battery size, and these cells answer to the trade codes LR6 and MN1500, the second of which is printed on the pack. Alkaline chemistry gives a nominal 1.5V per cell, which is what almost every AA powered device is built around. The pack states up to 150% extra life with Power Boost Actives.

Ten is a household quantity rather than a single swap. Television remotes, wireless mice and keyboards, wall clocks, kitchen scales, games controllers, torches and children's toys mostly take AA in pairs or fours, so one pack covers several devices and leaves a spare or two in the drawer. Where a device takes more than one cell, change them all at the same time and keep them together as a set: a part used cell dragged back into service pulls the fresh ones down with it. Leaving the cells in their card until they are needed also stops loose ones shorting against keys or coins.

Alkaline cells are primary cells: they are used once and are not designed to be recharged, so if you want something you can put back on charge, look at rechargeable NiMH AA cells and a charger instead.
