Description

The Dune UGR is a 535mm linear track light with an integrated 14W LED module that clips onto a 3-phase track system. The fitting casts 4000K neutral white light through a micro-prismatic diffuser designed to achieve a low Unified Glare Rating (UGR), reducing direct glare for screens and desk work. The white aluminium body measures 71mm high by 32mm deep and connects to standard 3-phase track via a twist-lock adaptor.

Designed for commercial offices, retail spaces and task-focused home offices where track lighting provides flexibility without fixed ceiling positions. The 3-phase track system allows individual fittings to be switched or dimmed in zones when paired with compatible track controllers, making it possible to create different lighting scenes across a single track run. The 535mm length suits linear arrangements along desk rows, display shelving and counter zones where consistent horizontal illumination is needed.

The low UGR diffuser scatters light across a wide beam angle while keeping the LED source indirect, making the fitting suitable for positions within a typical eye line in office or retail environments. The aluminium construction provides passive heat dissipation for the LED module, and the IP20 rating confirms the fitting is designed for dry indoor use only. The white finish matches ceiling track systems and blends into white or light-toned ceilings without visual weight.

The Dune UGR carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux and operates on 230V mains via the track connection. The fitting is non-dimmable unless paired with a compatible 3-phase track dimmer controller. Once clipped onto the track, the fitting can be repositioned along the track length without re-wiring, giving flexibility to adjust the lighting layout as space requirements change.

Frequently Asked

What does UGR mean and why does it matter?

UGR stands for Unified Glare Rating and measures how much direct glare a light fitting produces. A low UGR means the light is diffused or indirect, reducing eye strain in environments where people work facing screens or doing detailed tasks. The Dune UGR uses a micro-prismatic diffuser to scatter the LED output and keep the light source out of direct sight lines.

Can this be dimmed?

The fitting itself is non-dimmable, but it can be controlled via a compatible 3-phase track dimmer if one is installed on the track circuit. Dimming capability depends on the track system and controller, not the individual fitting.

What track system does it fit?

The Dune UGR fits standard 3-phase track systems via a twist-lock adaptor. It can be repositioned along the track without re-wiring, allowing layout changes as needed. Confirm your existing track is 3-phase before ordering if retrofitting into an existing installation.

Is 4000K suitable for offices?

Yes. 4000K is neutral white and is the standard colour temperature for commercial offices, retail spaces and task lighting. It provides clear visibility without the warm yellow tone of residential lighting or the clinical blue-white of hospital lighting.
