Description

The arm curves up and over from a small foot, carrying the lamp holder forward rather than straight overhead, so light falls where you are sitting rather than behind you. It is supplied without a shade, and takes a single E27 lamp of up to 20W. An inline switch sits on the flex, within easy reach of a bedside or the edge of a desk, and it will dim if you pair a suitable lamp with a dimmer. Antique brass and black run through the finish.

At around 50cm tall it is a small lamp, easy to place on a bedside table, a console or a shelf where a taller design would crowd the room. The over arm shape earns its keep beside a reading chair or over a laptop, since the light reaches out across the page instead of sitting behind the base. We stock the matching cone shades separately in two diameters, and we would choose the smaller one here so the proportions stay right. It suits rooms where you want a working light with some character to it.

It is double insulated, and the antique brass reads warm rather than bright, so it settles in with older furniture and darker paintwork. Wipe it now and then with a dry duster, and keep polishes and sprays off the finish. It belongs in dry, heated rooms indoors rather than a porch or a bathroom. The same curved arm is offered as a floor lamp, in satin black and in satin nickel with black, and the cone shades run from beige stone to pewter. It carries a one year warranty. Shade and lamp are bought separately.
