Description

Dracera is a 17 light linear pendant in black steel, made for a long table or a wide room. A slim oval canopy carries seventeen fine black cords, and each one ends in a curved, leaf-shaped steel shade, black on one face and gold on the other, floating over a small black dome that holds the LED. The pendant light is 155cm long, 33cm wide and 220cm high overall. The light source is integrated LED, 17 lights at 2.3W each, so there are no bulbs to buy or change. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs indoors in a dry room.

The natural home for it is above a long dining table, where the oval canopy follows the line of the table and the shades hang at staggered heights, filling the space between ceiling and tabletop. It suits a kitchen island or a generous open plan living room just as well. Each light gives 280lm at 3000K, a warm light, so rather than one bright glare you get a gentle scatter of small glows, and the gold faces of the shades pick up that warmth. We like it most where people linger, because the leaf shapes give the eye something to follow long after the plates are cleared.

Both the body and the shades are steel, the body in black and the shades in black and gold, and the single black canopy keeps the ceiling tidy where all seventeen cords meet it.
