Description

The Douille is a wall-mounted pendant fitting with a polished nickel hook bracket, a ribbed clear glass shade and a twisted fabric cord. The bracket mounts to a standard wall backplate and curves upward, holding the cord at an adjustable height. The E27 lampholder is housed inside a heavy cast-metal bulb holder with ribbed detailing, suspending from 1000mm of twisted cord that can be shortened during installation.

Designed for bedside reading, hallway accent lighting and alcove installations where a wall-mounted pendant provides more directional light than a fixed shade would allow. The adjustable cord means the shade can hang 300-1200mm below the bracket depending on ceiling height and intended use. The twisted cord detail gives the fitting a vintage-industrial character that pairs with exposed brick, tongue-and-groove panelling and bare plaster finishes.

The ribbed glass shade diffuses light from the E27 bulb (sold separately) while leaving the filament visible when using vintage-style LED bulbs. The polished nickel finish on the bracket and bulb holder provides a cooler metallic tone than brass, suiting bathrooms, kitchens and contemporary bedrooms where chrome or stainless steel fixtures are already present. The fitting projects 197mm from the wall when the cord is fully extended, so it suits walls with sufficient clearance from doors and furniture.

What bulb does it take?

The Douille uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Vintage-style LED filament bulbs in warm white (2200K-2700K) suit the ribbed glass shade and cast-metal bulb holder.

Can the cord length be adjusted?

Yes. The 1000mm twisted cord can be shortened during installation to suit the desired drop from the wall bracket. Once installed, the length is fixed unless the fitting is removed and re-wired.

What wall clearance is needed?

The fitting projects 197mm from the wall when the shade is hanging vertically. Allow at least 250mm clearance from doors, cupboards and furniture edges to avoid the shade being knocked when the door or drawer is opened.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The fitting carries no stated IP rating in the specification. For bathroom use, check that it will be installed outside zones 0, 1 and 2 (typically 600mm+ from a bath or shower enclosure). Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt.
