Dot Square Recessed Tilt Downlight - Black

The Dot is a 90mm square recessed downlight with a tiltable inner bezel that allows the GU10 bulb to be angled up to approximately 30 degrees from vertical. The fitting is built from die-cast aluminium finished in matt black, with a recessed square aperture that sits flush with the ceiling surface once installed. The GU10 socket accepts standard mains-voltage LED, halogen or CFL bulbs up to 50W (sold separately).

Designed for residential and commercial interiors, the Dot works as general ceiling lighting in hallways, kitchens, bathrooms (away from zones requiring IP44 or higher), living rooms and office spaces. The tilt function allows light to be directed towards specific surfaces such as worktops, artwork, shelving or seating areas rather than remaining fixed downward. The 90mm square bezel requires a ceiling void depth of at least 60mm for the rear housing, making it suitable for plasterboard ceilings with standard joist spacing.

The matt black finish recedes into darker ceilings and provides contrast against white or light-coloured ceilings, creating defined geometric lines when multiple units are installed in grid layouts. The aluminium construction dissipates heat efficiently when paired with LED GU10 bulbs, extending both bulb life and fitting longevity. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for dry interior locations but not for bathroom zones 0, 1 or 2, or for outdoor installation.

What ceiling void depth is required?

The fitting requires a minimum ceiling void of approximately 60mm to accommodate the rear housing and GU10 bulb holder. Measure the void depth before ordering to confirm compatibility with your ceiling construction.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means the Dot is suitable only for dry interior locations away from bathroom zones 0, 1 and 2. It can be installed in a bathroom ceiling outside these zones, typically more than 600mm from a bath or shower enclosure.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 50W, sold separately. Most installations use a 4-7W LED GU10 in either 3000K warm white or 4000K neutral white depending on the room function.
