Description

The Dorvex is a 150mm alabaster pendant light with a short cylindrical shade cut from natural Spanish alabaster, suspended from a brushed brass cap and black flex. The shade measures 160mm tall by 150mm in diameter, sized for use individually as a focused down-light or in clusters of two or three over a kitchen island, breakfast bar or dining table. The pendant takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately).

The compact proportions make Dorvex one of the more practical alabaster pendants for spaces with lower ceilings or tighter sight-lines. Hung individually it suits a hallway, a bedside drop, or a reading nook. Hung as a row of two or three at staggered heights, it covers a 1.6-2.4m island or dining table without dominating the room. The standard cable length can be adjusted at installation to set the pendant 700-800mm above a worktop.

Each shade carries the grey veining and tonal shifts of the natural stone, so no two Dorvex pendants look identical when lit. The lower opening throws focused task light downward onto the surface below, while the alabaster walls glow softly outward, giving both directional and ambient light from a single fitting. The brushed brass cap softens reflections from the cable entry and pairs cleanly with both warm and neutral interior palettes.

What bulb does the Dorvex take?

The pendant uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-9W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the natural alabaster and produces the warm glow shown when the fitting is lit.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself does not include a driver, so dimming depends on the bulb and dimmer switch chosen. A dimmable E27 LED paired with a compatible LED dimmer will allow the output to be reduced.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the grey veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.

Can it be hung in a cluster?

Yes. The compact 150mm diameter makes the Dorvex well suited to clusters of two, three or more pendants over an island or dining table. Each pendant is supplied as a single fitting with its own ceiling fixing, so a cluster is built from multiple units installed alongside each other.
