Description

The Knightsbridge Dipa is a twin-lamp recessed downlight with two independently tiltable GU10 fittings set within a rectangular white bezel. Each lamp holder tilts up to 25° from vertical, allowing the light to be directed towards specific zones in a room rather than straight down. The bezel measures 185mm x 93mm and sits flush with the ceiling surface, projecting just 3mm.

Designed for residential kitchens, commercial retail spaces and hospitality environments where directed accent lighting is needed without visible fixtures, the Dipa requires a minimum void depth of 130mm above the ceiling and a 173mm x 82mm rectangular cut-out. The twin-lamp configuration provides higher output than single-lamp downlights while maintaining a compact footprint, making it suitable for task lighting over kitchen worktops, highlighting retail displays, or washing light across feature walls.

The fitting is die-cast from aluminium and finished in white powder coat. The lamp holders drop down from the rear of the bezel for fast bulb installation and maintenance without needing to remove the entire fitting. Knightsbridge's tool-free cable termination system and loop-in/loop-out wiring design speed up second-fix installation, particularly on runs of multiple downlights. The fitting accepts any standard GU10 bulb up to 10W per socket (sold separately), including dimmable, non-dimmable and Knightsbridge SmartKnight options.

What ceiling void depth is required?

The Dipa requires a minimum void depth of 130mm above the ceiling line. The fitting itself recesses 39mm into the ceiling with a 173mm x 82mm rectangular cut-out needed for installation.

What bulbs does it take?

The fitting accepts two standard GU10 bulbs up to 10W each, sold separately. It works with dimmable, non-dimmable and Knightsbridge SmartKnight GU10 options. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific bulb model chosen.

Can each lamp be tilted independently?

Yes. Each of the two GU10 lamp holders tilts independently up to 25° from vertical, allowing you to direct light towards different areas or objects within the room.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the Dipa is suitable only for dry interior locations. It cannot be used in bathroom zones 1 or 2 where water contact is possible. For bathrooms, look for downlights rated IP44 or higher.
