Description

The Knightsbridge Dipa is a twin-lamp tilt recessed downlight with two independently adjustable GU10 lamp holders set within a rectangular black die-cast aluminium bezel. Each lamp holder tilts up to 25 degrees from centre, allowing directed light to be aimed at specific surfaces or objects rather than fixed downward. The fitting projects just 3mm from the ceiling once installed, with the black finish and recessed lamps creating a low-glare effect suited to residential, hospitality and commercial interiors.

Designed for ceiling installation in rooms with at least 130mm void depth above the plasterboard, the Dipa requires a rectangular cut-out of 173mm x 82mm and accepts two GU10 bulbs up to 10W each (bulbs sold separately). The fitting is rated IP20, making it suitable for general interior spaces including living rooms, hallways, kitchens and bedrooms, but not for bathrooms or wet rooms. The tool-free cable termination system and loop-in/loop-out wiring capability speed up installation when running multiple downlights on a single circuit.

The die-cast aluminium construction provides structural rigidity and heat dissipation for LED and halogen GU10 lamps, while the Class II double-insulated design eliminates the need for earth connection during fitting. The black powder-coat finish on the bezel and internal baffle absorbs light that would otherwise reflect back through the aperture, reducing ceiling glare. Dimmer compatibility depends on the GU10 bulb chosen — pair with Knightsbridge dimmable GU10 LEDs for full control, or use non-dimmable GU10 LEDs on a standard switch circuit.

A minimum 130mm void depth above the plasterboard is needed to accommodate the fitting body and lamp holders. The cut-out dimensions are 173mm x 82mm, and the fitting projects just 3mm below the ceiling line once installed.

Can each lamp be angled independently?

Yes. Each of the two GU10 lamp holders tilts independently up to 25 degrees from vertical, allowing light to be directed at different surfaces or objects within the room.

What bulbs does it take?

The fitting takes two GU10 bulbs up to 10W each (maximum 20W total load). Bulbs are sold separately. Knightsbridge offers compatible GU10 LEDs in dimmable and non-dimmable versions with a range of colour temperatures.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress and should only be installed in dry interior spaces such as living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and kitchens.
