Description

The Knightsbridge Dipa is a twin-lamp recessed downlight with two independently tiltable GU10 lamp holders set into a white die-cast aluminium oval frame. Each lamp holder tilts up to 25° from vertical, allowing directional light to be aimed at specific features, surfaces or zones within the room rather than straight down. The oval cutout measures 173 x 82mm and requires a minimum ceiling void depth of 130mm.

Designed for residential, retail and hospitality spaces where task lighting or feature highlighting is needed without exposed fittings, the Dipa sits flush with the ceiling (3mm projection) and recesses 39mm above the plaster line. The twin-lamp configuration suits kitchen worktops, bathroom mirrors, retail display alcoves, or gallery walls where two directional beams from a single fitting give better coverage than a fixed central downlight. The white finish blends into white or light-coloured ceilings.

The die-cast aluminium construction provides rigidity and heat dissipation for higher-wattage GU10 lamps, with each lamp holder rated to 10W maximum (20W total per fitting). The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas only. Knightsbridge's tool-free cable termination system allows loop-in/loop-out wiring without a screwdriver, and the drop-down lamp holder design lets bulbs be changed from below without removing the fitting from the ceiling. GU10 bulbs are sold separately.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 130mm void above the ceiling is needed to accommodate the recessed body of the fitting. The 173 x 82mm oval cutout sits 39mm above the plaster line once installed.

Can each lamp be aimed independently?

Yes. Each of the two GU10 lamp holders tilts independently up to 25° from vertical, allowing one to light a worktop while the other highlights a wall feature or cabinet interior.

Does it come with GU10 bulbs?

No. GU10 bulbs are sold separately. Each lamp holder accepts any standard GU10 bulb up to 10W. Knightsbridge offers compatible dimmable, non-dimmable and SmartKnight GU10 options in various colour temperatures.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress, so it is suitable only for dry indoor areas. For bathroom zones requiring IP44 or IP65 protection, a different downlight range is needed.
