Description

The Dilvelle is a compact LED outdoor wall light in an anthracite finish. It has a round wall plate and a short cylindrical body that throws light upwards and downwards through two clear glass lenses. The body is cast aluminium. It is 9cm long and projects 12cm from the wall, so it sits neatly beside a door without crowding the path. Its IP44 rating means it is protected from splashing water, so it can live outdoors on a house wall all year round as happily as it lives indoors.

Mounted beside a front door, along a porch or on a garden wall, it washes the surface with two soft fans of light, one rising and one falling. That picks out brick, render or timber cladding and marks the way after dark. Indoors it works just as well in a hallway or a living room. Because it is rated IP44 we would also suggest it for a bathroom, where a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone. Fit a pair either side of an entrance and the twin beams frame the doorway neatly.

The light comes from integrated LEDs, two of them at 2.2W each, giving 230lm per light, so there is never a bulb to change. At 3000K the glow is a warm white that sits comfortably against brick and stone. It is not dimmable and has no switch of its own, so it is switched at the wall, and it runs from mains at 220-240V. As a wired-in mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Packed, it weighs 0.655KG, and once it is fitted the everyday control is simply the switch at your wall.
