Description

The Desigual Large is a 200mm cube wall light built around a matt black metal frame that wraps a frosted white globe shade. The opal glass diffuser sits within the open cube structure, casting soft ambient light in all directions while the frame itself creates geometric shadow patterns on adjacent walls. The E27 fitting accepts standard Edison screw bulbs up to the recommended wattage (sold separately).

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and stairwell landings where ambient rather than task lighting is needed, the Desigual provides functional light without glare. The 200mm cube projects 215mm from the wall, making it suitable for walls with sufficient clearance from doorways and circulation routes. The fitting mounts to a standard wall box and the wiring runs through the rear plate behind the cube frame.

The matt black finish absorbs light rather than reflecting it, keeping visual focus on the frosted globe rather than the metal frame. The cube geometry gives the fitting a sculptural presence that works in both modern and industrial interiors. At 1.6kg the wall light needs secure fixing into masonry or a stud rather than plasterboard alone. Dimmable operation is possible when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and compatible wall dimmer.

The Desigual uses a standard E27 Edison screw bulb, sold separately. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedroom or hallway lighting. Check the stated maximum wattage recommendation before fitting higher-output bulbs.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible wall dimmer. The fitting itself has no restrictions on dimming. Dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the bulb you choose.

How far does it project from the wall?

The cube projects 215mm from the wall surface once installed. This makes it suitable for walls with clearance from doorways, circulation routes and furniture. In narrow hallways check that the projection allows safe passage.

What fixing is needed for the 1.6kg weight?

The wall light should be fixed into masonry, brick or timber studs using appropriate wall plugs or screws. Plasterboard alone will not support the 1.6kg weight safely. If fixing to plasterboard, locate a stud or use toggle fixings rated for the load.
