Description

The Desigual is a 2-light wall sconce built around two offset square frames in matt black metal, each enclosing a frosted opal glass globe. The frames are stacked at perpendicular angles and project 145mm from the wall on a single mounting plate, creating a three-dimensional geometric composition. Each globe houses a G9 bulb fitting (bulbs sold separately), with the frosted glass diffusing direct glare into soft ambient light.

Designed for hallways, living room feature walls, and bedroom sides where both light and visual interest are needed, the Desigual works as a standalone accent or in pairs flanking a mirror or doorway. The 230mm width and height suit standard residential wall mounting without overwhelming typical 2.4-2.7m ceiling heights. The twin G9 sockets allow the user to choose bulb wattage and colour temperature to suit the room context.

The matt black finish on the metal frames reduces reflections under daylight and pairs cleanly with contemporary, industrial and modern interiors. The frosted opal globes are opaque enough to hide the bulb filament while allowing light to pass evenly through the glass. At 1.5kg the fitting requires a solid wall fixing into masonry or a timber stud rather than plasterboard alone.

The Desigual takes two G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately). Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for ambient hallway or bedroom lighting.

Is it dimmable?

No. The fitting is not rated for dimmer compatibility. If dimming is required, consider installing a dimmable G9 LED bulb with a trailing-edge dimmer, but check bulb manufacturer compatibility first.

What wall fixing is needed?

At 1.5kg the Desigual requires fixing into a solid masonry wall using wall plugs and screws, or into a timber stud. Plasterboard-only fixings will not support the weight safely.

Can the globes be replaced if damaged?

The frosted opal globes are fixed to the metal frames and not designed as user-replaceable components. If a globe is damaged, contact Mantra or Niori for spare parts availability.
