Deryn 5 Light Chandelier - Natural Brass

The Deryn is a five-light chandelier built around an inverted diamond frame in natural brass, each arm capped with a cylindrical clear seeded glass shade housing an E27 bulb fitting. The frame combines flat brass sections that taper toward a central hub, creating an angular geometry that contrasts with the rounded glass cylinders. Natural brass means the finish is unlacquered and will develop a patina over time unless polished.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living areas with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Deryn provides five-point illumination across a 611mm spread. The maximum drop of 2534mm and minimum drop of 483mm mean the chandelier can be set anywhere from 600mm above a dining table in a standard-height room to 1800mm in a double-height entrance. The seeded glass creates a stippled texture that softens the light output without fully diffusing it, so the filament or LED shape remains visible through the glass.

Each of the five E27 sockets accepts bulbs up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose warm filament-effect LEDs for ambient dining light or higher-lumen cool-white LEDs for task lighting in a kitchen-diner. The angular frame and visible hardware give the Deryn a workshop aesthetic that pairs with reclaimed wood, brick, and industrial-era furniture, while the brass finish warms the fixture enough to sit comfortably in coastal or farmhouse interiors where polished chrome would feel too cold.

What bulbs does the Deryn take?

Each of the five sockets takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are not included. Most users pair the Deryn with warm-white filament-effect LED bulbs between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to complement the brass finish and seeded glass.

What is natural brass and will it tarnish?

Natural brass is unlacquered brass that oxidises and develops a patina over time, darkening and taking on brown or greenish tones depending on humidity and air quality. This is a feature of the finish, not a defect. If you prefer the original bright brass tone, polish periodically with a brass cleaner.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 483mm minimum drop suits standard 2.4m ceilings when the chandelier is positioned over a dining table or kitchen island. The maximum 2534mm drop allows the Deryn to work in double-height entrance halls or vaulted ceilings. The chain can be shortened during installation to suit the room.

How is the seeded glass cleaned?

The seeded texture traps dust in the stippled surface. Wipe each glass cylinder with a dry microfibre cloth when the bulbs are cool. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid soaking the brass fittings at the top and bottom of each cylinder.
