The Deco Peacock rug takes its cue from the art deco era, with rows of fanned peacock feathers repeating across the field like overlapping scallops. In its Green colourway the fans are drawn in cream line over a soft sage green and beige ground, each one finished with a small pale eye at its base, and a plain beige border with a fine cream line frames the whole design.

We think it sits most happily in a living room or bedroom, and the runners are made for a hallway or landing. It comes in five sizes. The 61 by 170cm runner and the longer 76 by 230cm runner suit narrow halls and landings, while the 76 by 150cm rug works at a bedside or in front of a fireplace. For a seating area, the 122 by 170cm rug fits in front of a sofa, and the 152 by 230cm rug is large enough for the front legs of a sofa and chairs to rest on it, or to sit under a double bed.

The green, beige and cream palette is gentle on pale wooden floors and sits well beside sage, cream and natural wood furnishings, and the border gives the design a neat finish at every edge. Because the pattern repeats evenly, it looks just as balanced in a long runner as in a large rectangle. Before you choose, measure the space and allow a little bare floor around the edges, so the border can frame the design properly.
