Description

The Decart is a 52cm LED picture light with an integrated 12W LED strip producing 800 lumens at 4000K, housed in a black metal body with an acrylic diffuser. The light mounts directly to the wall above a frame and directs neutral white light downward onto the artwork surface, minimising glare on glazed prints and canvases.

Designed for living room walls, hallway gallery arrangements, home offices and commercial art spaces, the Decart suits frames between 40-70cm wide where the light needs to cover the full width without spill onto adjacent wall areas. The 5.5cm projection from the wall and 22cm arm depth keep the fitting close to the vertical plane, making it suitable for narrow hallways and spaces where the light must not intrude into circulation zones.

The 4000K colour temperature sits between warm white and daylight, providing a neutral illumination that avoids the yellow cast of 2700K bulbs and the clinical tone of 6000K LEDs. This makes the Decart particularly suited to photography, contemporary art and mixed-media pieces where accurate colour rendering matters. The black metal finish absorbs ambient light rather than reflecting it, so the fitting itself remains visually recessive once installed. The acrylic diffuser spreads the LED output evenly across the 52cm length, preventing hotspots or visible individual diode points in the reflected light on the wall.

Frequently Asked

What size artwork does this suit?

The 52cm width works best with frames between 40-70cm wide. For larger artworks or to cover multiple pieces in a gallery wall arrangement, consider pairing two Decart lights or choosing a longer model.

Is the light dimmable?

The integrated LED operates on AC 85-265V mains. Dimmer compatibility is not stated in the manufacturer specification. If dimming is required, contact us before purchasing to confirm whether this model supports dimmer switches.

What is the 4000K colour temperature like?

4000K is a neutral white, sitting between the warm yellow glow of traditional incandescent bulbs (2700K) and the cooler daylight tone of office lighting (5000K+). It provides accurate colour rendering without the warmth that can shift how blues and greens appear in artwork.

How is it installed?

The light mounts to the wall above the frame using a standard bracket fixed to the back of the metal body. The installation manual is linked in the Downloads tab. Wiring connects to mains via a junction box or spur concealed behind the fitting.
