Description
The Davos is a 200mm rectangular outdoor LED wall light finished in rust brown powder-coated aluminium, housing an integrated 24W LED array that outputs 2200 lumens at 2700K warm white. The fitting directs light both upward and downward through openings at the top and base of the housing, creating a bi-directional wash across the wall surface rather than projecting light forward into the space.
Designed for facade lighting on residential exteriors, covered patios, and entrance areas, the Davos works best where vertical wall texture or material — brick, stone, timber cladding — benefits from grazing light that accentuates surface relief. The 100mm projection keeps the fitting close to the wall, and the IP54 rating provides protection against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for positions exposed to weather but not direct water jets. The rust brown finish pairs with natural materials and earthy colour schemes common in rustic, contemporary rural, and Mediterranean-influenced architecture.
The integrated LED is dimmable when paired with a compatible mains dimmer (check dimmer specifications for LED compatibility before installation). Four separate LED modules inside the housing are arranged to deliver even light distribution through both apertures, avoiding hotspots on the wall surface. The aluminium housing dissipates heat efficiently, extending LED lifespan. At 1.1kg, the fitting mounts directly to external walls using fixings suitable for the substrate — masonry plugs for brick or stone, timber screws for cladding.

Frequently Asked
Is the Davos suitable for fully exposed exterior walls?
The IP54 rating protects against dust and splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for most exterior positions including exposed walls. It is not rated for direct water jets (which would require IP65 or higher) or submersion, so avoid positions where it would sit directly under a downpipe outlet or in a location subject to heavy direct spray.
What type of dimmer is needed?
The integrated LED requires a mains dimmer compatible with LED loads. Trailing-edge dimmers typically perform better with LED fittings than leading-edge types. Check the dimmer manufacturer's specifications to confirm it supports the 24W load before installation.
Does the light project forward or wash the wall?
The Davos creates a bi-directional wall wash — light exits through openings at the top and bottom of the housing and travels up and down the wall surface. It does not project light forward into the space like a traditional spotlight, so it works best for accent lighting on textured facades rather than general area illumination.
Can it be installed on timber cladding?
Yes. The 1.1kg weight can be supported by timber cladding using appropriate fixings — typically stainless steel wood screws into the structural timber behind the cladding. Ensure the cable entry point is weatherproofed with suitable glands or conduit to maintain the IP54 rating at the installation point.
