Description

The Dakar 3 is a compact plug-in spotlight that goes straight into a wall socket, so there is no wall light point to find. Its steel body is finished in satin nickel with chrome, and a flexible chrome gooseneck holds a white shade, letting you turn the light exactly where it is wanted. It stands 18cm high and 7cm in length, and reaches 28cm out from the wall. It takes one E14 bulb of up to 25W, and the bulb is not included, so you choose your own. Its IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

Because it needs only a wall socket, it suits rented homes and rooms where there is no wiring for a wall light. Put it beside the bed for reading, next to a desk or armchair, or on a landing as a gentle night light for late trips across the house. The gooseneck lets you aim the shade down onto a book or turn it towards the wall for a softer wash of light, and you can change the angle whenever the task changes. The rocker switch sits on the body itself, so it is always close at hand, even in the dark.

The satin nickel has a soft, brushed sheen, and the brighter chrome of the gooseneck gives a crisp contrast that sits well with white walls, greys and natural wood.
