Description

The Knightsbridge CyroLED is an 86mm fire-rated fixed LED downlight with selectable colour temperature (CCT) and dual wattage switching. The integrated LED can be set to 3000K, 4000K, 5000K or 6500K via a switch on the driver unit before installation, and toggled between 4W and 6W output to adjust brightness. The white pressed-steel housing is fire-rated for 30, 60 or 90 minutes depending on ceiling construction, and carries IP65 rating from below (IP20 from above), making it suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, hallways and outdoor soffits.

Designed for new builds, refurbishments and whole-property lighting schemes where consistent appearance across multiple rooms is required, the CyroLED uses loop-in/loop-out quick connectors that reduce installation time when wiring multiple downlights on a single circuit. The 31mm recessed depth fits standard ceiling voids without needing additional clearance, and the no-bezel design allows contractors and homeowners to add separate bezel finishes (sold separately) to match interior décor. The 55° beam angle provides general room lighting rather than narrow spotlighting.

The pressed-steel construction gives structural rigidity and thermal stability under continuous operation. The Class II double-insulated rating means no earth connection is required, simplifying wiring in older properties. The downlight is IC rated for contact with insulation, so loft insulation can be laid directly over the fitting without creating a thermal risk. The unit is dimmable via trailing-edge dimmers only — check dimmer compatibility before installation, as leading-edge dimmers will cause flicker or failure to dim smoothly.

How do I change the colour temperature and wattage?

Both settings are controlled by switches on the LED driver unit, accessible before the downlight is installed. The CCT switch toggles between 3000K (warm white), 4000K (neutral white), 5000K (cool white) and 6500K (daylight). The wattage switch toggles between 4W and 6W output. Once the ceiling is closed, the settings cannot be changed without removing the downlight.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

Yes. The IP65 rating from below makes the CyroLED suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2 (directly above baths and showers) provided it is installed correctly and the IP65 seal is maintained. The IP20 rating from above means the ceiling void itself does not need to be moisture-sealed.

What ceiling void depth is required?

The downlight recesses 31mm into the ceiling void. A minimum 40mm void depth is recommended to allow clearance for the driver unit and wiring connections. The IC rating means insulation can be laid directly over the fitting without creating an air gap.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, but only with trailing-edge dimmers. Leading-edge dimmers are not compatible and will cause flicker or prevent smooth dimming. Check your dimmer specification before pairing with the CyroLED, or contact us for dimmer recommendations.
