The Cronvena is a low LED outdoor post light in black, standing 34cm tall, 11cm long and 6cm wide. The body is cast aluminium, and its upper half opens into a rectangular frame whose angled inner sides are lined with white plastic panels, so the light glows from the panels and through the open centre. Two integrated LED lights of 5W each give 550 lumens apiece at 3000K, a warm white that flatters planting and stone. It is rated IP54, protected against dust and splashing water, which settles the main question: it belongs outdoors, in the garden, along a path or beside the steps to your door.

At 34cm, it sits low and is well suited to marking out a route. Set one at the foot of garden steps, run a line of them beside a path, or stand a pair either side of a front door or at the corners of a patio, and everyone gets a clear sense of where the edges lie after dark. The black finish sits quietly against render, brick, timber and planting by day, while the open frame gives it a crisp, architectural outline that suits modern homes and simple gardens. Because the LEDs are integrated, there is no separate bulb to buy.

It has no switch of its own and is switched at the wall, and because it is not dimmable it gives the same steady warm light every time the switch is flicked.
