Description
The Cromwell is an 810mm diameter iron chandelier with six curved arms arranged around a circular central frame, each arm holding a single E14 candle-style socket. The entire frame is hand-finished in old bronze, a dark patina applied by brush that gives the metal a textured, aged appearance. Each chandelier receives a slightly different finish depending on how the patina takes to the iron during the hand-painting process, so no two pieces are identical.
Designed for medium to large dining rooms, entrance halls and living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Cromwell provides overhead light distributed evenly across six points. The 2400mm adjustable chain allows the drop to be set between 770mm and 2810mm on installation, letting the chandelier sit at the appropriate height for a dining table or central ceiling position. The 810mm width suits rooms of 4-5m square or larger without dominating the space.
The old bronze finish is applied by hand, which means the patina depth varies slightly across the surface of the metal — darker in recesses, lighter on edges and high points. This technique gives the chandelier a worn, historical appearance that references medieval wrought-iron lighting. The six arms curve outward from the central drum in a symmetrical pattern, with small circular drip trays beneath each socket that echo traditional candlestick design. The solid iron construction gives the fitting a substantial weight and presence that suits traditional, country house and transitional interiors.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Cromwell take?
The chandelier takes six E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Each socket accommodates up to 60W. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional candle-like glow.
What ceiling height is needed?
The adjustable chain allows a drop between 770mm and 2810mm. For a dining table the chandelier typically sits 750-900mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. The 810mm diameter suits rooms of 4-5m square or larger.
Is the old bronze finish the same on every chandelier?
No. The old bronze patina is applied by hand, so the depth and distribution of the finish varies between individual pieces. Darker areas typically appear in recesses and joins, while edges and raised details take a lighter tone. This variation is intentional and part of the hand-finished character.
Can the chain length be adjusted after installation?
The chain can only be shortened or lengthened during the initial installation. Once the chandelier is wired and fixed, the drop is set. If you need to change the height later, the chandelier must be taken down and re-wired.
