Description
The Cromwell is a 670mm diameter chandelier with five curved iron arms radiating from a central ring, each arm terminating in a candle-style E14 bulb holder. The frame is hand-forged from heavy-gauge iron and finished in old bronze, a hand-applied patina that gives each piece visible tonal variation, subtle surface texture and the appearance of aged metalwork.
Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights above 2.4m, the Cromwell hangs on an adjustable chain that allows a drop between 590mm and 2000mm depending on ceiling height and room proportion. The five lights are positioned evenly around the circular frame, creating balanced illumination without a heavy central mass. Each arm accepts a 60W E14 candle bulb (sold separately), allowing the user to choose between warm-white LED for energy efficiency or traditional filament for visible glow.
The hand-applied old bronze finish varies across the surface of the ironwork, with darker patina collecting in recesses and around the rivet details, lighter bronze showing on raised edges and wear points. This tonal variation is intentional and differs between individual chandeliers depending on how the finish was worked during manufacture. The iron itself is left with visible hammer marks and forging texture rather than being polished smooth, reinforcing the hand-made character. At 670mm wide and 510mm tall (frame only, excluding chain), the Cromwell suits rooms of 12-18m² without dominating smaller dining spaces or appearing undersized in larger open-plan areas.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Cromwell take?
The chandelier takes five E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional filament appearance with lower energy use.
Can the drop height be adjusted?
Yes. The 1800mm chain allows the chandelier to be set between a 590mm minimum drop and a 2000mm maximum drop during installation. The chain is shortened by removing links before the fitting is wired, so adjustment must be done during initial fitting rather than afterwards.
Does the finish vary between individual chandeliers?
Yes. The old bronze patina is applied by hand, so tonal variation, darker patches in recesses and lighter wear points differ between pieces. This is a feature of the hand-finishing process, not a defect.
What ceiling rose fitting does it use?
The chandelier fits a standard UK ceiling rose with a hook fixing. The chain suspends from the hook and the cable runs through the chain links to the ceiling rose. Installation requires mains wiring and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
