Description

A slim white bar rather than a cluster of spots, this one throws a narrow, tidy pool of light along whatever sits beneath it. The LED sits inside the housing and runs at 30W, giving a neutral 4000K white that reads clean and bright against pale plaster, timber and stone. At 540mm it is short enough to sit in a domestic run without dominating it. Output is fixed rather than dimmed, so a simple switch is all it asks for.

We use linear track heads like this where the job is to light a surface evenly: a kitchen island, a long worktop, a run of shelving, a workbench or a picture wall. The beam is tight, so it stays where it is aimed instead of bouncing round the room. It suits kitchens, home offices, studios and small shops, and it is one we would choose over a row of separate spots when the ceiling is already busy. Being an indoor fitting, it belongs in dry rooms; keep it away from shower zones and anywhere exposed to weather.

The housing is finished in a flat white that disappears against a painted ceiling, with the driver built in so nothing extra hangs off it. Dust settles on the top edge more than the face, so wipe it down with a dry cloth once the fitting is off and cool. There is no lamp to change, as the LED is integral. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same head in black, and both finishes are also offered in a warmer white for living rooms and bedrooms.
