Description

A slim rectangular head that sends its light in one direction rather than scattering it round the room. The integrated LED runs at 30W and gives 2350 lumens of warm white light, and at 540mm the body is long enough to cover a decent stretch of worktop or wall from a single position. The white finish is flat rather than glossy, so it tends to sit quietly against a pale ceiling. It is not dimmable, so it comes on at full output.

We reach for a linear head like this where round spotlights would leave scallops and dark gaps between them: over a kitchen island, along a run of open shelving, above a shop counter or a long dining table. The tight beam keeps light on the surface you want lit instead of washing the ceiling, which is why it works well on display walls and picture hangs. It belongs in dry rooms indoors, kitchens, studios, offices and hallways, rather than anywhere exposed to weather or steady damp. The driver sits inside the body, so there is nothing separate to find space for.

The body is a plain squared off bar, with the LED and its optic set behind the front face. Keep it looking right by switching off, letting it cool, then wiping the face and the sides with a dry cloth; dust on the lens is what dulls the output first, so give it a look every few months and keep solvents away from the coating. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same head in black, and both finishes are also made in a cooler white light for anyone who prefers a crisper tone. The LED is built in, so there is no lamp to buy or change.
