Description

A slim bar of light rather than a round spot, this head sits on lighting track in a narrow black housing 540mm long, with the LED set behind a recessed lens so the source stays out of your eyeline. The beam is tight and directional, and at 3000K it reads warm against timber, brick and paint. It draws 30W from the track, the driver is built in, and the output is fixed rather than dimmable. We stock it in black, which all but disappears against a dark ceiling.

Linear heads suit anything long: a kitchen island, a run of worktop, a shelf of books, a counter or a display bay in a shop. Because the light comes from a line rather than a single point, shadows are softer along its length and the pool on the surface below is more even. It is one we reach for where a row of round spots would look fussy or leave scallops down a wall. Track also lets you shift heads later, so if the island moves or the shelving changes, the lighting follows.

The housing is black throughout, matt enough to keep glare off its own edges, and the narrow profile keeps it quiet on the rail. It belongs in dry rooms indoors, well away from splashing and steam. For cleaning, switch off at the mains, let the head go cold, then run a dry cloth along the body and lift dust from the lens with a soft brush; nothing wet, nothing abrasive. It carries a three year warranty. The same head is also offered in white, and in a cooler white for kitchens and workshops. The LED is fixed in place, so there is no lamp to buy.
