Description

Our Craft rug is a modern abstract piece in ivory and gold, with soft clouds of grey drifting across an ivory ground and fine gold veins running through it, so the whole design has the look of polished marble. It is machine made from polypropylene and polyester, and its smooth, multi-textured pile gives the darker grey areas and the gold lines a little depth against the paler ground.

It is made for the living room, and that is where we would put it. The 120 by 170cm size sits neatly in front of a sofa or under a coffee table in a smaller room, the 160 by 220cm size gives a more generous spread for a sofa and an armchair, and the 200 by 290cm size suits a larger room where you want the seating to stand on the rug's edges. Its grey and ivory tones sit easily with grey upholstery, white walls and warm wood floors, while the gold picks up brass lamps or mustard cushions.

The gold veins are picked out in a metallic effect yarn, so they catch the light from a window or a lamp rather than reading as flat yellow.
