Description

Cove Stripe is a modern rug built on one simple idea: broad, even stripes of soft sage green and warm cream, repeating along its full length. The sage reads as a quiet grey green, calm rather than bright, and the cream keeps the whole design light and fresh. Each band is generous, so the stripe feels relaxed rather than busy, and the edges between the colours are crisp and clean, giving the surface a gently textured look.

We think it suits a living room or sitting room best, where its pale colours and steady rhythm bring light to wooden floors and plain walls. The 80 by 150cm size works beside an armchair, in a reading corner or in a smaller room. The 120 by 170cm rug sits well in front of a sofa or under a coffee table, and the 160 by 230cm size is large enough to anchor a seating area, with the front legs of a sofa and chairs resting on it. Its modern style sits happily alongside sage, grey and natural wood tones.

A striped rug can also change how a room feels. Lay the stripes across a narrow room and it will look wider; run them along its length and the space seems longer. Measure the area you want to cover and mark it out with masking tape, leaving a border of bare floor around the edge. The cream bands are light, so we would keep it away from a muddy back door and let it brighten a room you relax in.
