Our Umber and steel finish gives this pendant lampshade a warm, earthy tone that settles quietly into a room. The deep umber reads soft in daylight and glows a little richer once the light is on, while the steel edge keeps things cool and clean where the two curved planes meet. We like it above a dining table or over a kitchen island, where its low key colour sits well against pale walls or wood. It is a shade that adds warmth without shouting, and we think it works just as happily in a bedroom corner or a reading nook.

The form is what draws us to it. Two curved planes wrap into a cone, one carrying the umber and one the steel, and they meet along an open spiral edge rather than closing round. This means the shade is not a solid round drum but an open, sculptural shape that throws light both downward and out through the gap. Made from aluminium, it measures 23.8cm tall, 13.4cm wide and 12.4cm deep, and weighs only 0.24kg, so it hangs light on its flex. Assembly takes around two minutes, and we include a short video to walk you through it.

It is compatible with E27 fittings and takes a max 15W LED bulb, which is not included, so you can pick a warmer or cooler tone to suit the space. This is an indoor pendant lampshade in our single Umber and steel version. We think its compact size and open spiral make it easy to group in a row above a long table or hang on its own over a bedside. Whichever way you use it, we like how the steel keeps the umber grounded and the light soft.
