Cora 1 Light Bathroom Wall Light - Polished Chrome Ribbed Glass

The Cora is a single-light bathroom wall light with a bell-shaped ribbed glass shade held on a curved polished chrome arm, mounted to a circular polished chrome backplate. The shade has vertical ribbing on the outside and an etched inner surface to diffuse the light evenly, giving soft illumination suitable for vanity areas, mirror lighting and general bathroom task lighting. The fitting carries an IP44 rating, meaning it is protected against water splashes from any direction and can be installed in bathroom zones 2 and 3.

Designed for fitting above or beside bathroom mirrors, the Cora projects 172mm from the wall and sits 241mm tall, positioning the light source at face height for grooming and makeup application. The curved arm supports the shade at a slight downward angle, directing light onto the countertop and sink area rather than straight into the eyes. The polished chrome finish reflects bathroom light and pairs cleanly with chrome taps, towel rails and other metal fittings common in UK bathrooms.

The fitting includes a 3W LED G9 bulb at 3000K, providing warm white light immediately on installation. The G9 socket sits inside the shade, concealed from direct view by the ribbed glass. The ribbing breaks up the point source of the LED into softer vertical lines of light, reducing glare while maintaining brightness. The polished chrome backplate is 127mm wide and fits against standard UK bathroom walls, with the curved arm giving the fitting a traditional profile that works in both period and contemporary bathroom schemes.

What bathroom zones is the Cora suitable for?

The IP44 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3, which covers most vanity areas, walls above sinks and general bathroom walls away from direct shower spray. It cannot be installed in zone 0 (inside a bath or shower cubicle) or zone 1 (directly above a bath or within a shower enclosure).

Is the LED bulb replaceable?

Yes. The fitting uses a standard G9 socket, so the included 3W LED bulb can be replaced with any G9 bulb up to the rated wattage. The ribbed glass shade unscrews from the chrome collar to access the bulb.

Can it be fitted horizontally beside a mirror?

The Cora is designed to be fitted with the arm curving downwards, so the shade hangs below the backplate. Mounting it sideways would position the shade at an awkward angle. For horizontal mirror lighting, two Cora fittings can be installed either side of a mirror, both oriented the same way.

What colour is the light output?

The included LED is rated at 3000K, which is a warm white tone similar to a traditional halogen bulb. This colour temperature flatters skin tones and creates a welcoming bathroom atmosphere without the clinical feel of cooler daylight-white LEDs.
