Description

The Cook is a 150mm square LED wall light with a faceted angular profile, finished in smooth matt white. A single integrated 10W LED sits behind the angled front panel, emitting 780lm of 3000K warm white light. The sharp geometric form casts defined shadow lines on the wall during daylight and produces a soft ambient glow when lit.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and staircases where wall-mounted ambient light is needed without a protruding arm or shade, the Cook's 75mm projection from the wall keeps it clear of head height in narrow corridors while the square profile gives it architectural presence. The 780lm output provides enough light to illuminate a 3-4m hallway section or act as a beside-bed reading light when installed 1.5-1.8m above floor level. Multiple Cooks can be installed at intervals along a hallway or staircase to create evenly spaced ambient lighting without ceiling wiring.

The matt white finish integrates with white or off-white walls in contemporary, Scandinavian and minimalist interiors, and the faceted front panel adds visual interest where a simple flush-mount fitting would look flat. The light is not dimmable and runs at a fixed 10W on 230V mains. At 0.87kg the fitting mounts to plasterboard with standard fixings or to masonry with screws and wall plugs. Mantra provides a 3-year warranty.

Frequently Asked

Is the Cook dimmable?

No. The integrated LED runs at a fixed 10W output and is not compatible with dimmer switches.

What ceiling or wall height is recommended for installation?

In hallways, install at 1.8-2m above floor level to keep the light above head height while providing useful ambient illumination. Beside a bed, 1.5-1.8m gives comfortable reading light without glare.

Can multiple Cooks be installed along a hallway?

Yes. The 780lm output from each fitting suits spacing of 2-3m intervals along a hallway or staircase to create continuous ambient lighting without needing ceiling wiring runs.

What fixings are needed for plasterboard walls?

At 0.87kg the Cook can be mounted to plasterboard using standard plasterboard fixings or toggle bolts. For masonry walls, use screws and wall plugs appropriate to the wall material.
