Description

Connie keeps a low profile: a circular satin nickel plate with a shade of smoke glass beneath it, lit by three G9 lamps. The tinted glass takes the glare out of the light and gives a soft, even glow across the ceiling and down into the room below. At 48cm across it has plenty of presence overhead while still sitting tight to the ceiling line.

We reach for this one in hallways, landings and bedrooms where a pendant would hang too low to be comfortable, and it suits a stairwell where headroom matters. There is enough output here to handle the general lighting in a sitting room, with a table lamp alongside for quieter evenings. It will dim, provided the lamps you fit are dimmable ones and they are paired with a suitable dimmer. We would fit LED capsules, up to 10W each, for the light they give and the running cost.

Glass and satin nickel both clean easily. A barely damp cloth over the glass, dried off afterwards, keeps the smoke tint looking clear, and a dry duster is all the metal asks for; do it with the power off and the lamps cold. Double insulated and rated for dry indoor rooms, it is happiest in living space rather than a bathroom or a covered porch. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock the same flush fitting in satin black and satin brass if nickel is not your metal, and there are matching wall lights in the same finishes, useful in a hall where you want the ceiling and the walls to agree. Lamps are not included.
