Description

Three smoked glass shades sit beneath a round satin brass plate, spread across a fitting 48cm wide that hugs the ceiling rather than dropping below it. The glass is a soft grey smoke, dark enough to show as a tint when the light is off and warm through when it is on, with the G9 capsules glowing behind it. The brass has a satin sheen rather than a polish, so it keeps its colour without throwing hard reflections. We keep it on the shelf for rooms where a hanging fitting would sit awkwardly low.

Hallways, landings and bedrooms with ordinary ceiling heights are where it earns its place, and it works over a small dining table or in a galley kitchen where nothing should be at head height. Three lamps spread the light more evenly across a medium room than a lone central fitting, and the smoke glass keeps the glare down when you are looking up at it from a sofa or a stairwell. Dimming is possible if you fit dimmable G9 capsules and pair them with a suitable wall dimmer. It belongs indoors, in rooms that stay dry.

Glass shades on a metal frame, with the satin brass running across the plate. Dust the glass with a dry cloth and lift fingermarks with a barely damp one, drying it straight after; the brass needs no polish or spray cleaner. Switch off at the wall and let the capsules cool before you handle them. It carries a one year warranty.
