Description

The Coniston is a 1580mm crystal floor lamp with a domed shade built from tiered rows of faceted crystal droplets suspended from an antique brass frame. Three E14 bulb fittings inside the shade cast light through the crystal layers, creating refracted patterns across walls and ceilings. The antique brass column stem rises from a circular weighted base, holding the 360mm-diameter crystal canopy at a height that positions the light source above typical seating level.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and reading corners where decorative and ambient light combine, the Coniston functions as both a task light and a focal piece. The crystal droplets catch natural daylight during the day and multiply artificial light in the evening, giving the lamp a different character depending on the time and surrounding light levels. The weighted 12.5kg base provides stability on carpets and hard floors without needing wall anchoring.

The antique brass finish shows a darker patina than polished brass, with subtle tonal variation across the metal that pairs well with warm-toned traditional and classical interiors. Each tier of crystal droplets is individually hung, so the shade maintains its shape and refraction pattern across the full 360-degree circumference. The lamp is dimmable when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch, allowing output to be adjusted from full brightness down to a low ambient glow.

The lamp takes three E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to complement the antique brass finish and crystal refraction.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch fitted to the circuit. The lamp itself has no onboard dimmer control — dimming is handled by the mains circuit.

How stable is the base on carpets?

The 12.5kg combined weight of the brass frame, crystal and base provides good stability on both carpets and hard floors. The circular base distributes weight evenly and does not require wall anchoring under normal use.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe each crystal droplet individually with a dry microfibre cloth. For heavier dust build-up, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the brass fittings and do not use household sprays or chemical cleaners on the crystal or metal.
