Description

Congo is a printed rug in the Mulberry colourway, covered from edge to edge in layered leaves. Deep purple shadows sit behind fronds of fresh and darker green, with soft pink and coral leaves catching the light here and there, so the whole surface has the depth of a painting rather than a flat repeat. The design is digitally printed onto 100% polyester, which gives the leaves their fine detail and soft shading.

The rich tones settle well in a living room, where a grey or neutral sofa lets the greens and purples take the lead. We sell it in five sizes. The 76 by 150cm rug suits a spot beside a bed or in front of a fireplace, and the 61 by 230cm runner is made for a hallway or a long landing. For a seating area, the 120 by 170cm and 152 by 230cm sizes sit neatly under a coffee table or the front legs of a sofa, while the 185 by 290cm rug is large enough to anchor a whole room or sit under a double bed.

Practically, it is a rug you can live with. It is washable, which settles the question of spills, muddy shoes and pets in a busy home. The dense leaf print also helps disguise the marks of everyday life. Measure your space with the furniture in place before choosing a size, so the rug sits exactly where you want it.
