Colorado 9 Light Oval Crystal Cluster Pendant Light - Polished Chrome

The Colorado is a 9-light oval crystal cluster pendant built around a 650mm polished chrome canopy set on a circular ceiling plate. Nine GU10 fittings sit within the canopy, each lighting multiple strands of faceted cut crystals that cascade 1300mm below the ceiling rose. The crystals are threaded on clear wire strands in an oval formation that tapers from a wider top section to a narrower point at the base, creating a teardrop profile when viewed from the side.

Designed for entrance halls, stairwells and double-height living spaces with ceiling heights of 3m or above, the Colorado provides both functional light from the nine GU10 bulbs (sold separately) and decorative light from the refraction through the cut crystals. The 1300mm drop suits spaces where the pendant needs to be visible from ground level and first-floor landings simultaneously. The weight of 16.6kg requires a ceiling fixing capable of supporting that load plus a safety margin — a standard plasterboard ceiling rose will not be sufficient.

Each crystal is machine-cut and faceted to catch light at multiple angles, splitting white light into spectral colours and throwing refracted patterns onto surrounding walls. The polished chrome canopy and fittings reflect the crystals above them, adding depth to the overall effect. The oval profile measures approximately 650mm at its widest point and narrows at the base, giving a softer outline than round or square cluster pendants. All nine GU10 bulbs can be controlled by a single dimmer switch if dimmable GU10 bulbs are fitted, allowing the light intensity to be adjusted from full output down to a low ambient glow.

What ceiling height is needed for the Colorado?

The 1300mm drop works best in spaces with ceiling heights of 3m or above. In a standard 2.4m room the base of the pendant would hang only 1.1m above floor level, which is too low for most applications. The Colorado is designed for entrance halls, stairwells and double-height living areas.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Colorado takes nine GU10 bulbs up to 50W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED GU10 bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to balance light output with running cost. Dimmable GU10 bulbs are required if you want dimmer control.

Is the pendant dimmable?

Yes, if dimmable GU10 bulbs are fitted. The fixture itself is compatible with dimmer switches but requires dimmable-rated bulbs to function correctly on a dimmer circuit. Non-dimmable GU10 bulbs will flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

What ceiling fixing is required for the 16.6kg weight?

A standard plasterboard ceiling rose is not sufficient for 16.6kg. The pendant requires a ceiling joist fixing or a reinforced anchor rated for at least 25kg. If your ceiling does not have accessible joists at the desired fitting position, consult a qualified electrician about installing a reinforced mounting point before attempting to hang the Colorado.
