Colorado 9 Light Crystal Cone Cluster Pendant - Polished Chrome

The Colorado is a 650mm diameter crystal cluster pendant built around nine GU10 bulb fittings set within a polished chrome circular canopy. Hundreds of precision-cut crystal drops hang from fine metal wires in a tapering cone formation, dropping 1000mm from ceiling to tip. Each crystal facet refracts light from the nine bulbs across the surrounding space, filling high-ceiling rooms with layered reflections.

Designed for entrance halls, double-height living rooms and staircases with ceiling heights of 3m or above, the Colorado needs vertical clearance to display the full cone profile. The 650mm canopy diameter means the fitting sits visually large even when the crystals are still — when lit, the reflected light spreads across a much wider area than the physical diameter suggests. The nine GU10 fittings allow independent control of light output by choosing bulb wattage and colour temperature to suit the room.

The polished chrome canopy and metal wiring framework provide structural rigidity for the 14kg weight of the crystal mass. Each crystal drop is individually wired to prevent tangling during installation and to maintain the cone geometry over time. The conical taper starts wide at the canopy and narrows to a point approximately 1000mm below, which suits rooms where the pendant hangs over a central floor area rather than above furniture. The fitting accepts dimmable GU10 bulbs (sold separately), allowing light intensity to be adjusted from full brightness for functional use to lower levels for ambient lighting.

What bulbs does the Colorado take?

The fitting takes nine GU10 bulbs up to 50W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with LED GU10 bulbs between 4-7W and 2700K-3000K for warm white light. Dimmable GU10 LEDs are required if using a dimmer switch.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1000mm drop means the pendant works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or above. In lower rooms the cone tip may hang too close to head height in walkways. The fitting is designed for double-height spaces, entrance halls and staircases where the full vertical profile can be appreciated.

How is the 14kg weight supported?

The polished chrome canopy fixes to a ceiling plate rated for the full 14kg load. Installation must be into a ceiling joist or into a reinforced fixing point — standard plasterboard cavity fixings are not sufficient. Professional installation is recommended.

Can the crystals be cleaned?

Yes. Each crystal drop can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth while the fitting is switched off and cool. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal wiring or allowing water to run into the canopy.
