The 293mm drop from ceiling to base of the glass positions the fitting lower than a traditional flush mount but without the full pendant drop that might overwhelm rooms with standard 2.4-2.7m ceiling heights.

Designed for rooms where a centrepiece light is needed but ceiling height prevents a full pendant, the Collier suits dining rooms, entrance halls, landing areas and master bedrooms. The heritage brass finish carries a warmer, slightly antiqued tone compared to polished brass, pairing well with period and transitional interiors where polished chrome or steel would feel too contemporary. The etched glass diffuses light evenly across the 559mm diameter, reducing glare and spreading illumination over a typical 12-16m² floor area when fitted with four 6-8W LED bulbs.

The tension rod construction creates visual interest when viewed from below, with the three brass rods forming a tripod structure that connects the ceiling plate to the outer ring. Each rod terminates in a brass knob detail where it meets the ring, adding a mid-century mechanical quality to what would otherwise be a simple circular frame. The etched glass is frosted rather than clear, hiding the bulbs when lit and creating a soft disc of light rather than four visible points.

The 40W maximum rating per socket allows for traditional incandescent bulbs if preferred, though most installations now use 4-8W LED candle or golf bulbs in warm white (2700-3000K) to reduce running costs. What bulbs does the Collier take?

The fitting takes four E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each rated up to 40W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit LED candle or golf bulbs between 4-8W in warm white (2700-3000K) for energy efficiency and a traditional light quality.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 293mm drop from ceiling to base of the glass works best in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 2.7m. In lower ceilings the fitting may feel too prominent; in higher ceilings a full pendant would typically provide better proportions.

Is the glass replaceable if damaged?

The etched glass diffuser is a replaceable component. Contact Hinkley or Niori with your model number to source a replacement glass section if needed.

Does the heritage brass finish tarnish?

Heritage brass develops a natural patina over time if exposed to air and handling. This is a characteristic of the finish and many buyers prefer the aged appearance. If you prefer to maintain the as-supplied tone, wipe occasionally with a soft dry cloth. Avoid chemical brass cleaners as they may strip the heritage finish coating.
