Description

The Coin Air is a ceiling fan light combining a 500mm diameter wood-tone disc housing with four retractable transparent blades, an integrated 90W LED ring light, and a DC motor controlled by remote or app. When stationary, the fan measures 500mm across and presents as a flat circular ceiling light with a wood-grain finish. When switched on, four clear acrylic blades extend from within the housing to a 1060mm total span, providing air circulation without the visual presence of traditional fixed fan blades.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4-3m, the Coin Air suits living rooms, bedrooms and open-plan dining areas where both ambient lighting and air circulation are needed but ceiling height or aesthetic preference rules out a traditional pendant fan. The LED ring light delivers 3300 lumens with adjustable colour temperature from warm 2700K to cool daylight 5000K, controlled via the included remote or a smartphone app. The DC motor offers six fan speeds and reverses direction for summer cooling or winter heat redistribution.

The wood-tone finish on the housing is a printed effect on metal, giving the appearance of natural grain without the weight or maintenance requirements of solid timber. The transparent blades retract flush into the housing when the fan is off, leaving only the circular disc visible against the ceiling. Installation requires a standard UK ceiling rose and the fitting drops 355mm from the ceiling when blades are retracted, extending to 480mm when blades are deployed and spinning. The 7.5kg weight requires secure fixing to a joist or ceiling anchor rated for the combined static and dynamic load.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting drops 355mm from the ceiling when blades are retracted and 480mm when extended and spinning. For safe clearance above head height, rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above are recommended. The blades extend to a 1060mm diameter when deployed.

Is the LED dimmable and colour-adjustable?

Yes. The integrated LED is dimmable from 0-100% and the colour temperature adjusts from warm white 2700K to cool daylight 5000K. Both functions are controlled via the included remote or the smartphone app.

How is the fan controlled?

The Coin Air is controlled by the included IR remote or via a smartphone app (iOS and Android). The remote and app control fan speed (six speeds), direction (forward for cooling, reverse for heat redistribution), light brightness, and colour temperature.

Does the motor make noise?

The DC motor is quieter than traditional AC fan motors, particularly at lower speeds. At speed 1-3 the motor is near-silent in most domestic environments. At higher speeds there is audible airflow and a low mechanical hum, typical of ceiling fans at full output.
