Description

This is a replacement shade for the Clown lamp: a globe of translucent green glass that narrows into a slender twisted neck, so the whole piece looks rather like a balloon tied off at its end. It measures 150mm across and 206mm tall and weighs 0.16KG. What you receive is the glass shade alone. The lamp it fits and the bulb are not included, and we do not sell the lamp, so this green glass shade is for a customer who already owns the Clown lamp.

Most customers come to it for one of two reasons. The first is a broken or chipped shade: a new glass brings the lamp back into use without replacing the whole light. The second is a spare, kept in a cupboard for the day one is needed. Either way, the lamp keeps its playful look, the round green globe and the twisted neck that give the Clown its character. Because the glass is translucent, it lets light pass through rather than hiding it, and that rich jewel-toned green brings a note of colour to whatever room holds the lamp, lit or unlit.

The shade is glass from the round globe to the tip of its twisted neck, and glass keeps its colour and clarity over the years and wipes clean with a soft cloth. At 0.16KG it is light and easy to handle when changing the shade. The maker describes the light that comes through it as diffuse, so expect a soft, even spread rather than a sharp beam. Before you order, check that your lamp is the Clown lamp: this shade is made for that lamp, and we make no claim that it fits any other.
