Cleveland Small Pedestal Lantern - Weathered Bronze

The Cleveland is a 466mm outdoor pedestal lantern in weathered bronze aluminium with a seeded glass shade and decorative urn-shaped finial. The single E27 socket sits inside a clear seeded glass enclosure that diffuses light through the textured surface while maintaining the warm glow of the bulb visible behind it. The IP44 rating protects against dust and water splash, making the lantern suitable for exposed locations including gatepost mounting, driveway pillars and patio edges.

Designed for residential driveways, front entrances, garden walls and low boundary pillars, the 466mm height suits positions where a full-height post lantern would be too tall but a bollard light would sit too low. The fluted pedestal base provides a fixing platform of 185mm square, matching the standard cap sizes for brick pillars and precast piers. The weathered bronze finish shows deliberate surface variation that mimics aged metal, pairing well with period properties, country homes and traditional garden schemes.

The aluminium body resists corrosion in coastal and high-rainfall areas where ferrous metals would degrade. The seeded glass adds visual texture when unlit and softens the appearance of the bulb when lit, avoiding the harsh glare of a clear pane. The classical urn finial and gently curved glass holder give the lantern a traditional silhouette that reads as heritage lighting rather than contemporary.

What bulb does the Cleveland take?

The lantern takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to match the traditional aesthetic.

Can this be used on a gatepost or brick pillar?

Yes. The 185mm square base suits standard brick pillar caps and precast pier caps. Four fixing holes in the base allow the lantern to be screwed down to the mounting surface. Ensure the pillar cap is level before fixing to prevent water pooling.

Is it suitable for coastal locations?

The aluminium construction resists corrosion in salt air better than ferrous metals. The IP44 rating protects against water splash and windblown rain. Regular rinsing with fresh water will help maintain the weathered bronze finish in exposed coastal positions.

How is the seeded glass cleaned?

The seeded texture traps dust and pollen more readily than smooth glass. Wipe the exterior with a damp microfibre cloth and mild detergent, rinse with clean water, and dry with a soft cloth. The glass panel is removable for deeper cleaning by unscrewing the retaining clips.
