Description

This is a clear glass LED reflector bulb with a rounded mushroom shape, a small E14 screw cap and a silvered dome. Look into the glass and the slim LED filaments are on show, giving it the look of a traditional filament lamp while it draws just 4W. It gives 320lm of warm white light at 2700K, and it is dimmable. The bulb is 8.5cm long and 5cm in diameter, so it sits neatly in compact fittings. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors and dry, in a living room, bedroom or hallway, never a bathroom or an outdoor wall.

We would choose it for a fitting where the bulb stays on view: an open pendant on a flex, a wall light with a bare lampholder, or a small spotlight that takes an E14 reflector bulb. The silvered dome gives a polished, mirrored look even while the bulb is unlit, and at 2700K the glow is the soft, warm white that suits a living room or bedroom in the evening. Because it is dimmable, you can bring it down to a gentle level for a reading corner or a supper table, provided the circuit has a dimmer switch.

The body is glass, with a metal screw cap and a clear stem that holds the filaments in place. It runs on a 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains supply, the standard household voltage, and carries an energy class of G. Packed, it weighs 0.032KG, so it is light enough to keep a spare in a kitchen drawer. Before you order, check that your fitting takes an E14 small screw cap and has room for a bulb 8.5cm long and 5cm in diameter.
