Description

At 35cm in diameter and 16.6cm in height, our Clava Up Wood Ceiling/Wall Light in Medium keeps a compact footprint while holding real presence overhead. Seen from below, it reads as a circular fitting of many fine radiating wooden slats set around a solid oak centre disc, rather like a spoked wheel. The Dark Oak finish gives those slats a deep, warm tone that we find works well above a dining table or beside a reading chair. It is a surface mounted design, so it sits flush against the ceiling or wall without a suspended cord.

This wall light is made from oak, ash and laminated veneer, which keeps the weight down to just 1.44kg while holding the fine radial pattern in shape. The natural grain runs through each slat, so no two fittings are quite alike, and the Dark Oak tone brings out the ash beneath the surface. It carries UKCA, IP2X and CE Standard markings and is rated for indoor use. Because it mounts to either a ceiling or a wall, we like how it lends itself to hallways, landings and corners where a lower fitting would sit in the way.

Fitting is quick, and we reckon on around five minutes with the assembly video to hand. The lamp takes an E27 bulb up to 15W LED in a G40 shape, which is not included, so you can pick a warmer 2700K glow or something brighter to suit the space. We would suggest a clear or lightly frosted bulb, since the open spoked form lets light pass through the slats and casts a soft radial shadow across the surrounding surface.
