Description
Blown into a full round globe of 12cm across, finished in gold ripple glass that veils the filament inside. It draws 6.5W and sits at 2100K, a shade warmer than ordinary warm white and much closer to candlelight, so the glow falls amber on brick, timber and brass. The E27 cap fits standard larger holders, and the bulb is a little taller than it is wide once the cap is counted. It dims with a suitable dimmer, and as it comes down the colour holds its warmth rather than drifting grey.
We would use this anywhere the bulb itself is part of the look: an open-frame pendant, a bare flex hung over a kitchen island, a cluster above a dining table, or a lamp base left without a shade. The gold tint and gentle output make it a mood light rather than a working one, so it earns its place in snugs, dining rooms, bar corners and hallways, ideally alongside something brighter for reading or chopping. It suits anyone reworking a period room, and anyone who finds standard LED light too clinical of an evening.
The body is glass, with the ripple worked into the surface so it catches highlights along the curve as you move past. Dust it with a dry cloth once the bulb is switched off and cool, and keep sprays and damp cloths away from the glass, as they will dull the tint over time. It carries a three year warranty. A dimmer is not supplied with the bulb, and it wants a model rated for LED loads if it is to behave at the bottom of the dial. Where a plain clear bulb looks unfinished in an exposed fitting, this is the one we swap in.

Frequently Asked
How big is the bulb?
The globe measures 120mm in diameter and the bulb stands 173mm tall overall, including the E27 cap.
Will it work on any dimmer switch?
It needs a dimmer rated for LED loads. No dimmer is supplied with the bulb, and an older mains dimmer intended for filament lamps may flicker or buzz at low settings.
How warm is 2100K in practice?
Warmer than a typical warm white LED. It reads close to candlelight or low evening sun, with a distinctly amber cast that suits the gold glass.
How long is it expected to last?
Average rated life is 15,000 hours.
How should I clean the gold glass?
Switch off at the wall, let the bulb cool, then wipe with a soft dry cloth. Nothing wet, and no cleaning sprays on the finish.
