Description

Amber all over and gently golden once lit, this is a round globe lamp made to be seen rather than hidden away. The tone sits at 1800K, nearer the flicker of a wick than ordinary warm white, so the light falls as a low honeyed wash instead of a bright flood. At 5W it draws very little, and it dims smoothly on a compatible dimmer, sinking into a deeper amber glow as you turn it down.

We reach for this one wherever the lamp itself is part of the look: open cage pendants, bare flex drops over a kitchen island, cluster fittings above a dining table, wall lights carrying no shade at all. It suits bedrooms, snugs and evening rooms where you are after atmosphere rather than task light, and it looks well in multiples along a shelf or the back of a bar. Anyone swapping out an older filament style lamp for something tidier and kinder on the meter will find it a direct replacement. A suitable dimmer is needed if you want to dim it, and no dimmer is supplied with the lamp.

The globe measures 95mm across, a proportion that reads generous in a small shade holder and nicely balanced on a long flex. That amber tint veils the light source, so there is far less glare when the lamp sits at eye level or below. It screws into any standard E27 lampholder. To keep it looking its best, turn the power off, allow the globe to go cold, then wipe it with a dry lint free cloth and leave liquids well away from it. It carries a three year warranty. For a fuller golden effect we would hang a few at staggered drops rather than rely on a single one.
