A globe this large is meant to be looked at. The smoked finish takes the hard edge off the light and leaves a low amber glow, closer to candlelight than to anything you would read by. It draws 4W, screws into a standard E27 lampholder, and dims down on a compatible dimmer. At 20cm across it behaves like an object in its own right rather than something to tuck away inside a shade.

We stock it for the fittings that have nowhere to hide a lamp: a bare flex over a dining table, an open cage pendant, a row above a bar, a single drop in a stairwell. The light is soft and low, so it suits snugs, bedrooms, hallways and hospitality rooms where mood matters more than working brightness. If you need to see clearly at a worktop, we would pair it with something brighter overhead and use this for atmosphere. It is a lamp for evenings, and it earns its keep when the dimmer is turned well down.

It gives 120 lumens at 2100K, an extra warm amber tone. That is atmospheric light rather than task light, so treat it as the glow in a room and not the main source in a kitchen or study.

Will it work on my existing dimmer?

It dims, but it needs a dimmer rated for low load LED lamps. A single 4W globe draws very little, so older dimmers built for filament lamps may flicker or refuse to strike. No dimmer is supplied.
