Description

A clear glass globe with a mirrored chrome crown, this is a lamp meant to be seen rather than tucked away. The chrome sits across the top, so from below you get the clear glass and the warm glow, while from the side the crown reflects the room back at you. The light is warm white at 2700K, close to the colour of an old filament lamp, and it draws 4W. It dims with a compatible dimmer, so you can take it down low in the evening rather than living with one fixed brightness.

We reach for this one where the lamp is part of the look: open pendants, cage fittings, a bare flex drop over a kitchen island, or a multi-arm fitting where several globes sit in a row. At 80mm across it is one of the smaller decorative globes, which keeps it in proportion inside a compact shade or a narrow glass cylinder. The screw cap is the standard E27, so it goes into most household pendants and table lamps without fuss. It suits anyone moving away from older incandescent globes who wants the same warm colour for a fraction of the power.

Glass carries the light and the chrome finish caps the crown, and that pairing is what does the styling work here. It carries a three year warranty.
